Ooh you have me intrigued about your flowers – be there shortly. I am just catching up on comments this morning as not been online since this time yesterday!
Very Spring, Becky!
My square turned out rather rectangular so a hasty edit was called for. It should be more square now (hopefully!) https://wp.me/pVkLb-5lV
Oh, this is stunning, but what is it? I thought some kind of vetch / legume family? Portuguese? And I can’t get over the fact that you and Sue have had snow today!
Exciting news – Susan (as in Rushton) has identified. Well her ‘sweetheart’ has 🙂
It is a pink locust tree – some form of Robinia. He wasn’t sure whether it is an acacia, ambigua, hispida, pseudoacacia, viscosa or another but hopefully you might work it out!! 😉
Robinia pseudoacacia I think. What a beautiful tree. I don’t think I have ever seen one, though I still have an unidentified tree from Australia. I shall have to look at that one again.
Yes I have just been reading that too. The RHS seems to have various ones on their website which would suggest probably would be okay here. I am very tempted!
So glad you are not racing out either – people are bonkers as there are more variants around. I wish we could find a balance so we stop this stop/start go with it all
However on to happier things can’t wait to see your square. Sorry didn’t visit yesterday, has a rather crazy day volunteering online and so way behind with squares.
The tree was puzzling me all day so I called in the reinforcements. My sweetheart says it’s a pink locust tree – some form of Robinia (acacia, ambigua, hispida, pseudoacacia, viscosa etc). Hard to be sure which. I hope that gets you a little closer!
Pretty flowers

Great! Becky, I have a question. What is your complete http-adress for the square?
I tried ” …./bright-square “, but it does not bring me there.

Changes daily, so there will be the date in there too plus a number at the end to reflect which square it is. Number is same as date

Beautiful contrast between the pink and the spring green. Very bright indeed.

Complementary colours always brighten the colours when they sit side by side.

Really turning into an unusual April!
Vetch, interesting. Does it grow into trees?

Not as far as I know, but the perennial sweet pea can grow very big – upwards of 8 foot. Is this an actual tree then?

My recollection is that it is – but going to now double-check. I’ll be back!

From the USA but apparently you can buy them here. Very hardy. I wonder if there is one in George? I’ll have to have a look.

Very pretty. Not just the pea-type flowers, but those leaves too. Although I’m not racing out to the shops or the pub today, I thought a small celebration was due: https://susanrushton.net/2021/04/12/humulus-lupulus-aureus-golden-hops-vine/
