I’ve been delving into the archives quite a bit for this month’s Squares, and a few photos which normally would never see the light of day have made themselves known. I took this one at the Hawk Conservancy in Hampshire at the end of one the shows. There was still smoke in the air and so I had great difficulty in focusing on the meerkats. They were also far too focused on enjoying their snacks to pose. Still it has provided a great excuse to steal a line or two from the hymn.

I know you have visited me already, but I wanted to add a link to see if it creates the single line or a block (Susan was wondering why it happens to some links and sites and not others) so ignore my next comment.
BTW Have you ever visited Marwell Zoo? It’s more of a wildlife park / sanctuary than a zoo, but does have some wonderful animals including meercats.

Yes, a few years ago now. Last time I was there I was marrying a couple, in fact the last five or six occasions I was doing that!

Well spotted, Becky. If you’d gotten any closer, there wouldn’t have been one to take a photo of. 🙂 I don’t have a creature great, but I do have one small.

Meerkats are something we don’t have in the States as far as I know. They are bigger than I thought. Are they in a show? It’s a bright and shining picture, Becky. Can you believe this month is flying by so fast? Whew! Thanks again for hosting this. 🙂 My post will have a pingback. I’ll go ahead and post this comment. Have a great day. 🙂

Yes they were in a show as we don’t have them either! They are usually found in countries in southern Africa.

Oh! It shows how untraveled I am! I’ve heard of them, certainly, but didn’t know they were performers. 😦

Ah the most performing they do is search for the snacks in the middle of a field!!

They’re a good combo, aren’t they. And the magnolias are dancing too.
