What an uplifting group of squarers you are this month. It has been quite extraordinary. We have had so many different ups. If you have not yet joined us it isn’t too late, there is over a week to go. The theme is up, and the only absolute rule is that your photograph must be square in shape, hence #SquareUP.
If you have time I’d love it if you left a comment as well as your pingback on my square post, and as it is a Saturday why not join in Six Word Saturday too. You never know where you might end up with the 6WS gang, they are as innovative as all of us Squarers.
Gorgeous bird. By reading the comments I assume it’s called a gold finch?

Yes it is a European Goldfinch – very common in the south of England particularly if you put out seed or grow thistles

That’s a plump little bird. Looks like a nice sunny day though. Here’s mine: https://grahamsisland.com/2021/01/23/an-upside-down-butterfly/. I posted this comment before but it seemed to disappear so I’m having another go. If both show up, feel free to delete one of them.

That’s a fat little Goldfinch. I haven’t seen many in my garden this year except when a charm of them descended on my Verbena ‘Lollipop’ for the seeds! I think they don’t like the bird food I have purchased this year, they prefer the sunflower hearts (and make a right mess still) not the mixed variety.

Yeah we are spoiling them to sunflower hearts, and are very grateful to the pigeons and chaffinches for clearing up their mess. I am convinced for every seed they eat they spit out 2 or 3!
