We’re happy bunnies because the Redwings have returned to our beech trees. They are only here in the winter months, and for the past couple of years we have been fortunate enough to look up just at the right moment and spot them at the top of the trees. It is one of the tiny silver linings from not being in Portugal.

Even when everything is brown and grey they look fabulous in the tree. Is this brown enough though for Jude?!

By the way thank you to everyone who has left a message these past few days, and also thank you to so many of you for visiting at least one other squarer. Together, with the tag SquareUp and Jude’s Colour2021, we can be upbeat.

    I have a reason to be upbeat today: for the first time in what seems like weeks, we have sun in Sydney! The plus side of all the recent rain is the grass being quite startling green, and of course a big reduction in bush fires.

  13. I’m working on upbeat, but man, it is getting hard. Everyone is sick. We aren’t, but you can’t even get through to the doctor because every sick person is on the phone. it will be MONTHS before we get vaccinated. Garry might make it by April — with luck — and me? Maybe June? I can’t believe this is moving so terribly slowly. But I’m being cheerful because if I’m not, I won’t get through this.
