It is believed these are the eldest and youngest brothers – William and Philip – of the Robinson family in the 1920s. They were both Constables. Although the more I look at this picture, the more uncertain I become. Great Uncle William and Great Uncle Philip were 20 years apart in age and yet these two Constables could almost be the same age. They do look alike though so are clearly Kindred Spirits, although I am not sure what they’d think of Debbie’s Kindred Spirits!

  1. Oh, yes, much more serious than my pairs yesterday. I certainly don’t think they would have approved of the video!! I’m with Jude on the left one being older, but 20 years seems a bit of a stretch. And I was also going to suggest the numbers, though I thought you’d have tried already. 🙂
I’ve gone reflective today, though I expect you’ve spotted that already. I’m slow at getting to the blogs this morning as I finally managed to sit down and read a book!

  2. I’m cheating a bit today as I have addded you to my Saturday post, but all’s good as you get six squares for the price of one!! 💐

I would have said that the gentleman on my left as I look at the photo is older than the one on the right. The thing is in those days even young men looked older than they were.

        1. Their nephew has just confirmed it is them! Still some uncertainty though which is which. Hoping might find out from one of the archivists in a week or so 🙂
