A couple of weeks ago I was definitely kinda down, everything felt overwhelming and nothing seemed to be within my control. Life, despite the beauty and kindness of squares, was becoming kind of bleh. So MrB and I decided to turn that around by cutting down the time spent on the computer, and using the time instead to go for walks. Which is kinda why we found ourselves on Stockbridge Down. It worked wonders, as has making sure I connect with friends and also exercising daily. For other ideas and tips for a more Optimistic October visit the Action on Happiness calendar.
Excellent remedy…..lovely scene. Here’s mine on what was stating. To become a damp day!: p https://suejudd.com/2020/10/21/undaunted-on-a-damp-kind-of-day/l

It is a lovely place to go, we normally drive past to go on to another hill but so pleased we stopped here this time 🙂 apparently you can see Salisbury on a clear day – although not this direction. As we were looking towards the Isle of Wight here!

Sue, you couldn’t understand why I’d seen a post for 2018. Click on this link. You’ll see why.

I’ve been in a perfect tizzy, just like the skwirrel 🙂 , this morning because you didn’t appear in my Reader. I’ve been badgering everybody and finally found you at Margaret’s place. Hope this gives you a giggle, and that you accept my small bowket in the spirit in which it’s meant. Kinda cheerful! 🙂 🙂

I don’t know but I hope you enjoyed the trip. 🙂 🙂 Debs did the same with her magic dragon yesterday but I blamed the dragon.

So am I, also brought 3lbs of sloes so I now have sloe gin bubbling away in the cupboard 😀

Happiness beckons! 🙂 🙂 I’ve never tried it but I don’t like gin. Lisa was slurping homemade mulberry wine vodka ??? or something like that, when we Zoomed last night. It’s enough to make anyone zoom!

Sloe gin doesn’t taste like gin, think more port or madeira 😀
and yay Lisa has you on zooming, Cee would like to join us for a chat one day soon so hopefully will be a Saturday when you are free xx

When I think about it, it’s WhatsApp with Lisa, which seems to work better for me, but I’ll try 🙂 🙂

ahhh yes WhatsApp, does work well but Sue unfortunately doesn’t have a smartphone so won’t be using that for a while

Had to find out what sloe was. That sounds a good way to get a cheaper version than what I found here https://mchenrydistillery.com.au/shop/700ml-sloe-gin/

OMG! Maybe I need to find a way to sell mine. I make a very good sloe gin 😉

Isn’t that a crazy price. Next you’ll be making bath tub gin to get a great commercial quantity 😂😂

lol! Just thinking of all the bottles I’d need – 3lb of sloe equals at least 4 bottles, goodness knows what a bathtub would need

The profit would offset the price of bottles. If not a ‘medicinal” bath would be good 😂

Such a lovely remedy, Becky. Especially during the current craziness, we all need more of that making us feel better – fresh air and sunshine (if you can get it), a bit of adrenalin coursing through your veins and a slight huff and puff of breath putting a light flush on your cheeks – there’s nothing like it 🙂

You are absolutely right Clare – and we did have glimmers of sunshine that day. No sign here today though of that yellow thing in the sky, been raining since middle of night!

I have plants crying out for some rain 😊 but that just means I get to admire them while I water them.

I’ll post some new stuff tomorrow. Today, i just ran out of time. But there are Garry’s pictures up today in a few hours. I hope I remembered to put in a pingback. I think I may have forgotten! Better check. anyway, it’s all autumn leafy right now. This has been a pretty good autumn. After that windstorm, everything everywhere turned red and gold and it’s still red and gold. We may get another week out of it if it doesn’t start to storm 😀

My walks during this period have certainly kept me sane, but recently the weather has been against us. Kinda unhelpful. Lovely photo!

Weather only just turned here, hasn’t stopped raining. So might be a bit soggy on the downs today, still today is meant to be a working day for me so better I am not distracted by sunshine and autumn colours!

Sometimes, we just need to recharge our batteries. A walk and seeing the beauty of nature will do that! Have a good day Becky!

It certainly did, also restocked the cupboard with autumn fruit 😀

Oh yum, what are your autumn fruits there?

On this walk we got carried away with sloes – a berry that is great for making a liqueur with. But on previous walks blackberries, apples and rose hips 😀

Oh yum, I love the fruits but liqueur is fine by me too haha

With everything returning almost to normal here, it’s hard to see on the news what’s happening in the Northern Hemisphere and we sympathise with all our overseas friends. Last week when we were away with limited phone reception it was refreshing to not be bombarded with all the news of the world. I’m glad you’re finding some useful strategies to help in what must surely be a difficult and disappointing time. I hope you and all your loved ones continue to stay safe and well.

We’re just hopeless this side of the world, fingers crossed that we don’t pass it back to your side. In meanwhile I am trying to follow in your footsteps and avoid more than one or maybe two looks a day at the news – better to focus on more positive things as I cannot change the world.
