Grandad, when he was a boy

I started with affinal kin in my original KindaSquare announcement and consanguineous on day one, so it has been rather lovely to see so many of you also sharing family portraits this month. There have been so many kind and beautiful faces, you’ve inspired me to share another relation, this time of Dad’s dad. Grandad was certainly kind, and I also remember he was very cheeky. He had a few things to say about this song!

By the way if you would like to see my header shot of Grandad with his parents and siblings click here. It is a lovely photograph of my consanguineal kin, and it would be shame to miss it if you didn’t come via the WP reader or my home page. I do like my theme but it can occasionally unkind to header photographs!

        1. Do with seven sets of great grandparents, but the eighth is a mystery.

Granddad was very special 😀 and by the looks of it so was his mum, my great grandmother

  1. Old photos are fun to come across…now I wonder who this is. I must remember to write on the back so the future will know the now…oh goodness ..how to write on a digital photo and will someone have what it takes to look.

    1. Lots is good as we are fast approaching the moment when there will be too many kinds for me to count on my fingers and toes!

  2. What a hat! I have a few old photos of various relatives, not all named sadly, but only one of my dad as a boy, and none of my mum until she was grown up. Like Margaret, I can’t bring myself to throw them out.

    1. Definitely don’t throw them out, but make sure you write on the names where you do know so if the family ever do show interest they will have a good starting point
