It is such a delight and an honour organising Winchester Heritage Open Days every year. Yes it does take over my life for a few weeks, if not months every year, but just look at what fun events I get to go to.

If you can spare half hour now or later then I’ve love it if you could listen to the podcast it is quite extraordinary where some of these buses were found.
I enjoy the nostalgia of the old buses (takes me back to the days with conductors and their ticket machines 🙂 )

You’ll have to come here one year when they are hosting their running days. Such fun – 14 buses on their original routes 🙂

Last year we had 145 different events, this year was quite quiet as we only had around 20 in person events because of Covid19.

I’ve always been drawn to buses for some reason, Becky, and especially old ones! I suppose it’s to do with time travel… the times they’ve travelled through, the people they’ve carried. There is something special about them.
My post today is kinda familiar: https://wp.me/pVkLb-5fD

I love old buses. Strangely I was only thinking yesterday about the trolley buses and trams I went on during the 1950s. Meanwhile I’m remembering warmth and cold last winter. https://lizannelloyd.wordpress.com/2020/10/16/kindasquare-16/

They are so lovely to see – usually they run trips for us but this year had to be a display only

I’m not quite sure what King Alfred has to do with buses but maybe I will be enlightened when I listen to the podcast. I’m sticking with a kind of Kind theme: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/10/16/is-it-an-imp-a-sprite-a-hobgoblin-a-pixie-or-something-else/
PS: Brian has caught me out. Yesterday’s Kind wasn’t square. I’ve amended it 😶

Winchester was the capital of England and one of the main bases for King Alfred, he was also buried here. So quite a few local businesses use the name King Alfred.
PS I never noticed!!!!
