As we approached I assumed the inspiration was a ship, I can see a prow (bow) from here. Apparently however Kengo Kuma was inspired by Scottish sea cliffs. So here’s another view from the cliff edge.
I was inspired by the cliffs of northeastern Scotland – it’s as if the earth and water had a long conversation and finally created this stunning shape.

It’s a building the home of the V&A museum in Dundee. very unusual inside too

It does seem to happen occasionally – partly WP gremlins and partly if we comment on lots in a short space of time. It is so frustrating. Watching it being built over the years I always thought a ship was emerging, so I was surprised too when it opened and I read it was meant to be a cliff. Still don’t really see it.

I haven’t. We meant to go across the river and walk in Tentsmuir last time we were there, but it was tipping down and we went to Broughty Castle instead. Some day I will definitely check!
