Why not join us for Squares. I am sharing a square daily, you can do the same or join us weekly or even just pop in occasionally with your squares. The frequency of your squares depends on you and your blog.
The theme is perspectives, which hopefully will provide you with plenty of scope. As you can see I had geometry on my mind today as I observed how a lighthouse changes in size depending on where you are standing. If you don’t have a lighthouse near you, here are some other ideas to get you thinking;
- Art – the method by which solid objects drawn or painted on a flat surface are given the appearance of depth and distance.
- Geometry – the way that objects appear smaller when they are further away and the way parallel lines appear to meet each other at a point in the distance.
- Point of View – a particular way of considering (looking at) something or the capacity to view things in their relative importance
- Vista – seeing something over distance or time
Be great if you could join us today as I am putting the finishing touches together on our first #SquarePerspectives gallery, the opening is planned for Saturday. If you have already scheduled a square then visit my Portuguese blog to find out more about this lighthouse.
It’s always exciting to see a lighthouse for some reason. I love the diminishing palm trees too

My kids loved lighthouses when they were little, they couldn’t see one at a distance that we had to go close by, sometimes hours and hours walking! Stunning photos!

Well you know I love a lighthouse! Must be time for me to visit ‘mine’ once I get my car sorted out. For now I daren’t drive anywhere in case it doesn’t start again. Just hope it gets to the garage tomorrow! And you have reminded me of an image I created from one of my earlier challenges using Pauline’s lighthouse and my girl on the shore. Maybe I’ll dig it out as it is an unusual perspective 🙂

Indeed. It was cleaned up a couple of years ago so I can’t complain at how long it has lasted.

Do like a good lighthouse! I’m just about to join the challenge. 9 days late, not too bad.

Love the post, Becky 👏 I’m so used to looking at lighthouses from the seaward side; at 12-14 miles they look tiny until you close the range & realise just how big they are, particularly the ones with helo pads on top 😃

love it. I’d love to see some from the seaward side, although probably not this one on the day we were there. The tidal waves were getting big!

Thanks Sue, so glad you like. Was a great spot, although the waves were a bit daunting later on!
