on top of the world
Now look again at the header!

Did you spot the kestrel on its nest in the header? Apparently kestrels do not build their own nests, they rely on other species and in this case humans to create their top home in the perfect setting (which happens to be Mértola for this kestrel). And talking of top creations, here’s our third #SquareTops gallery.

By the way a very warm welcome to the new and returning squarers in our first gallery, and huge thanks also to all the regulars in that room and the rooms we’ve yet to explore.

I am pretty sure I recommended pouring a cup or glass of something, but just in case I didn’t, why not take a moment now to make something. You may need a drink, as last week;

You are all so amazing; it is such a treat hosting squares. I wonder what we might find in the penultimate room today. Do hope you are able to visit at least one square in every room.

But before you disappear off to find your next #SquareTop I must share some essential top tips. The lockdown is beginning to cause some hairy challenges so here’s some mane advice.

Hope your head survives my hairy top tips, and most of all I hope you have enjoyed this week’s gallery. It has been such a pleasure creating it.

    1. Well depends which side you approach from! One side you’d probably need a 25metre crane, the other you could balance somehow from the top – neither option appeals to me though!

  1. Well that was well spotted! I suspect through the use of binoculars? A lovely bird. I was tempted to wait today to publish my post at 20:20 on 20th 2020 – a shame we don’t have a month 20 although right now it almost feels like we do have never ending months. I’ll try and visit some rooms later, at the moment I am on a mission to clear out loads of stuff I brought with me from the Ludlow house that I have not looked at in the four years we have been here so I guess I don’t need whatever it is!

        1. It’s pouring so today seems like a good one to finish the job while I am in the mood. Or it could be another 4 years!

        2. Pouring? Brilliant sunshine here. Still at least the rain will keep you in the mood to finish the job, don’t put it off for another 4years!!

    1. Wish I could fly like a kestrel, and hovering would be so useful! Fortunately for me my camera allows me to stand in one place and play 🙂
