Topstitching is a sewing technique where the line of stitching is designed to be seen from the outside of the garment, either decorative or functional. I nearly used this as my phrase for that rather natty blazer I shared a few weeks ago.

For me though today I am using ‘top’ as in ‘top end’ or ‘best’ as this garment room was created by Nicholas Daley. Nicholas is a top British fashion designer who, as you will see in the video, draws upon both his Jamaican and Scottish roots, heritage and music.
Good day to you Becky. Here is my entry for the day.

It has been forever since I have sewn, Becky. Great shot and ideas for topstitch! I need a new machine and it was always enjoyable to sew clothes and create costumes for my daughters, even ren faire garb for myself! https://secondwindleisure.com/2020/04/19/sunday-stills-honoring-mother-earth/

Topstitiching – excellent! In these times, I am sorry I got rid of my sewing machine when we downsized.

Another fabulous word – topstitching. Sometimes looks as if you are wearing a garment inside out though!

Well Akismet said they’d sorted it, but also gave me a lecture about not repeating a comment until the first one had been approved! And that some sites are moderated! Don’t you hate it when you’re being patronised?

I really hate it, and it is noticeable how often it is a bloke giving the lecture. And in this case sounds more like mansplaining as not only are you a proper WP blogger but their lecture makes no sense as perfectly demonstrated by your ‘top stitching’ comment not only has all your previous comments been approved but I have no moderation settings for comments by anyone who has a previously approved comment – grr at them!!

I know. And they had even asked me to repeat a comment on a site so they could investigate! And they have the cheek to call themselves Happiness Engineers!

Sensible woman . . . they’ve just had another complaint from me, the pingback from Debbie’s failed to appear again. It is driving me crazy as how many I am missing that I don’t think to look for.

I’d never heard of him until I went to the V&A in Dundee, but have since looked up his work and really like it. Unfortunately he only seems to create menswear
