Hee hee, look what I found in my archives. Hopefully you, unlike the previous owner whose plight it was, will find it more of a Monday motivation than an actual blight!

That’s a well worn shoe! It’s interesting to read that it was hidden under the floor – clearly a very valuable item. 🙂

My thoughts exactly. I have told my mum she needs to go into the museum for me this week and find out what the other items were!

Must be so horrid 😦 you’ll just have to get John to do more of the scrubbing!

What a forlorn shoe! And I hope this one posts OK, because my fingers are prone to mishitting keys and it published 2 days ago for a minute or so before I trashed it and restored it this morning: https://suejudd.com/2020/01/20/floodlight/

Such an unexpected find in the museum. Shame we will never know more about the owner

a fascinating little piece, Becky – such hard work evidenced by a simple shoe. And hidden for luck! It was probably her husband who was hanging onto the luck of having a hard-working woman!

Hee hee, love your take on it! Just amazing what they can tell from a left shoe

How interesting to see that Shoes were sometimes made for both feet and then the person could customize it to their choice –
A lot of these simpler “bare foot” shoes are in style with a lot of paleo people – less preformed footwear and more simpler support – so interesting to see certain things are timeless
– in some ways this is very like modern shoes

🙂 Lovely start for this week. It looks well worn, even worn out.

From a time when we did wear things out rather than buying new all the time I guess!

I don’t know about you but if the stitching holds, I keep it.

Generally . . although I do have a clear out every year of clothes I am rarely wearing to give to a charity. I don’t always replace them.

Yup, I do this as well. But man do I love it when an item of clothing or shoes actually lasts!
