Our current storms reminded me of some waves I was watching in December 2018. In fact some of you may remember them too; when I shared how timing was everything. We fortunately had left the pier by the time the waves got this big, unlike the person you can just see dashing away along the pier. It does scare me the risks people take.
In case you were pondering. . . . yes, I have made up a word as we approach the halfway point in Squares. Originally I was going to call this winter sunlight but you inspired me in yesterday’s gallery to be even more creative. So I’ve come up with Wavelight! Although having said that there is a European company called Wavelight, and if you google wavelight lighthouse you get some great images of waves crashing into lighthouses. So maybe it is a word after all!
Hi Becky…Nice shot!

Wavelight is a perfect word and what a lovely capture, Becky! Great to see so much light from your blog and others’ in gloomy January! Here is mine as we strolled in the afternoon “de-“light on various points of my road trip. https://secondwindleisure.com/2020/01/15/wordless-wednesday-afternoon-de-light/

It’s a cracking shot, but wavelight? Really? In my experience those waves are far from being light! But it’s your challenge so if you want to go ahead and make up words then who am I to complain. And it is a rather pretty word, so OK go ahead, make up words…
Not a made up word, but a very common one today: https://wp.me/pL5Ms-4Z7

hee hee, I think it should be a word. It is as you say a very pretty one although I agree perhaps not a very accurate description!

Mine for today is moonlight:https://wp.me/p2owKx-1rc
What I really like about your photo for today is that you left the haze in, it leaves the photo with really muted tones that are beautiful.
Also, people who wander too close, I just find that frustrating.
Cheers!, Amy

oh I am so glad you like it . . . . I was quite a distance away. camera was on full zoom which is partly why I couldn’t take out the haze

Now all I need to do is convince the OED to add it to their dictionary!

It scares me too. I’ll go with wavelight, though I imagine all that water crashing down would be quite heavy!

Likewise outside of squares, but during squares I have found I lose a whole day or more catching up if I leave it too long!
