TAPERLIGHT is a 16th century word for the light of a candle.

I checked the word taperlight (not because I don’t trust you but because I always want to know more) and apparently a taper is what they called the wick. And I thought it might have to do with the form of dipped candles tapering on one end … mhm…
As promised: full moon tonight. It could go either way with the cloud cover: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/01/10/moonlight/
We can still buy taperlights here to light fires with! They are very long wicks with only a tiny bit of wax around them . . . . I totally forgot them until I saw this word again
The upper floors of the palace at Kew. There was very little in the room, apart from these two images. My siblings didn’t even stop as they walked through but I was transfixed by the images
Really? I feel like I’m stepping back in time 🙂 🙂 The Header is especially alluring. The main frame looks a little ghostly, but I could be sitting across the table sewing with that first lady (if I could sew, of course, but let’s pretend 🙂 )
The header is my favourite too, but it didn’t work as a square! And glad to learn I am not the only one who cannot sew – maybe we could read to her instead.
Talking of reading how did the lesson go on Wednesday?
Just happens that I was also hanging out on a royal related property for my square today: https://wp.me/p2owKx-1qb
Yours for today is very creative. Mine is all the tones, light and dark, that can be found within a flower.
Cheers!

I remember my grandmother using little rolls of paper called spills for lighting fires with when I was very young.
