The last few years have been tough at times but I’ve decided 2020 is going to be different. 2020 is going to be full of light, and to help make it so, I will be launching January Light tomorrow. I can’t wait as it means for a whole month a fabulous and creative posse of friendly and inspiring photographers are joining me to share squares of words ending in light.
If you are not already a member of the posse, then why not join us in sharing joy and limelight. I will be listing light ending words at tomorrow’s launch but you are also welcome to find your own words ending in light. If you can though try and avoid the blights, slights and plights, I think we want January Light to mostly be a delight!
I suspect a few words beginning in light will sneak in but there are more than 50 words which end in light, and even more if you hyphenate or use another language, so hopefully the majority of squares illuminated will be highlights! There is one challenge rule though that is absolute and that is keeping your photographs square!
My pingbacks aren’t, so here’s my first:

My goodness, I hadn’t even thought of things like blight and plight! I’m with the person suggesting hyphens or running words together German-style, which is exactly where I’ll be starting tomorrow. Happy New Year, Becky, it’s nearly here!

Hee hee, amazing what words end in light!
Can’t wait to see all your hyphens. Happy New Year to you both xxx

We always need light, Becky! I’m on my blog break for at least another week, but I will have some great winter shots of the Grand Canyon to share later this month. Happy New Year and may 2020 bring you an abundance of light and love!

I’m with David M here. Hyphens it is. Or I will be applying German word creation rules. Rules which have given us words like “Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz” (which was an actual law – repealed in 2013 when the word rose to prominence). Even “light bulb” is one word in German (alas, no light in there: Glühbirne = glowing pear).

Can’t wait for your German creations, those words are amazing! Really love the one for a light bulb, going to think of them as pears from now on!

I’m planning on cheating and using a hyphen on day one. I suspect I’m going to be doing a lot of cheating.

Hee hee, you know I don’t mind cheating as long as the pic is square!! I am really looking forward to all your hyphenations and highlights 🙂

Oh they’ll all be square but some may need “creative” titles. 😁

Best way to start the year is with a little bit of creativity I say!

I’ll be travelling in the first half of the month, and I can’t figure out square photos on my smartphone (as I’m not smart as far as phones go). So I’ll join you tomorrow, and then …. who knows?

Smartphones are not as smart as they claim!
Tomorrow will be fabulous, and maybe you could do a square collage on your return from your travels. 🙂

I don’t think anyone will argue with you, hon. Time to put away the weeping and wailing and enjoy what we have. Wishing you a year full of glorious light, Becky. Thanks for your friendship and I wish you and Robert health and happiness in abundance (and that’s a cracking image 🙂 )
