Forest of plastic

Three years ago today MrB and I were in Birmingham for our anniversary and discovered there are not many trees in the city centre, however it was easy to imagine trees in the Ikon Gallery. This fascinating untitled sculpture of a forest, with its changing lighting to create sunbeams and shadows, is the work of Žilvinas Kempinas.

And our adventure didn’t end here, a few steps beyond the forest we were mesmerised by his moving tape and what I called a moon room, but officially these two works of art I think were called White Noise and Illuminator.

    1. Loving your muddled city lines. Unfortunately I cannot leave comments though on your post as I’ve been struck down by some WP gremlins. I’ll be back once I’m home to properly leave comments

        1. It’s really odd, mine have halved but when I look at the actual posts they’re as busy as usual. Definitely WP gremlins!

    1. PS and now WordPress isn’t allowing me to comment using my tablet this morning on some new posts. Aaargh!! Your Sunday ivy is great.
I’ll return to it once I’m home and on my laptop.

  1. We also married in October – on my birthday actually so OH is in real trouble if he forgets – happy anniversary to you and Mr B I hope you are having a lovely time away. I didn’t see your post pop up in my reader today, but I would have been late anyway as I took the opportunity of a dry and windless day to get some more garden chores done. Now the sun is setting time to come indoors and do some computer stuff!

I have been playing today, but there are real lines in the original photo, just not as dramatic 🙂

    2. PS Unfortunately WordPress isn’t allowing me to comment using my tablet this morning on some new posts, and your fabulous solarised lines are one of them. I can like but not comment. So I’ll return once I’m home and hopefully via my laptop I’ll be able to leave my comment dramatically!
