The lovely Nancy is encouraging us to share hands, and in particular the stories they tell. So yesterday I decided to change today’s lines&squares post to this one.

The hands belong to a Winchester Cathedral scribe, whom I visited in the Undercroft during the Heritage Open Days festival. I am intrigued by the lines they are writing. Are they sharing their story, an extract from someone else’s story or are they random lines?
I’d love to be able to write like that, or even just to be able to read my own handwriting!

Hee hee….. It is amazing how we can write in a way not even we can work out when we wrote!

This brings back memories of having to copy things out in my best handwriting at school. 🙂

Thank you Cee 🙂 I am so glad I spotted Nancy’s challenge as otherwise this one would not have made it into lines!

I used to have nice handwriting but after so many years using a keyboard it is now atrocious.

I think most of us are like that . . at least though we have the skills hidden in us somewhere. So many youngsters these days are not even being taught how to write 😦

How I admire good handwriting; and to be able to use a real nib pen without making ink bombs. I can hardly write at all without a keyboard these days. I’m sure it has a bad effect on brain function too: more tap-tappity haste = less thoughtful thinking.

I definitely make typos because of haste!

My hands are becoming pretty useless when it comes to stories storytelling etc. My feet however seem to have found a whole new lease on life!
