Do hope you are having as much fun as I am on this great square adventure. For me it has been a wonderful excuse to look through the hundreds of photographs I took earlier this year in Portugal, and also a wonderful distraction from work and life this month. Thank you all so much for your wonderful contributions and comments. And also for your patience with my replies, pingback okays and the first gallery.
I thought this morning I would share another gorgeous Algarvian blue sky. It really was this blue, but it wasn’t just the glorious sky that caught my eye back in April. If you look carefully there’s a door especially for Norm and his Thursday Doors. And I also spotted quite a few blues in the frieze, yup even back then I was thinking of this challenge!

I also thought today, a third of our way into the month, I would remind everyone of the theme and rules, but before I do here is a picture of a bigger door for Norm and the complete frieze, with a man in blue, for my blue square gang!

The theme for July is ‘blue‘, and as always it is totally up to you how you interpret the square theme but here are my suggestions for how we might stay connected on our square adventures this month.
- Your photographic square could be a ‘Bolt from the Blue’ – something unexpected or surprising
- Alternatively why not explore ‘Into the wide blue yonder‘ – sky, sea or maybe a location that is appealingly unknown and mysterious
- Or if you prefer keep it simple with ‘Blue‘ – whether that’s azure, cobalt, sapphire, cerulean, navy, ultramarine, indigo, or turquoise
- And if you’re feeling particularly adventurous try to combine two of these, or maybe even all three!
Whatever you decide to do, please remember there is a rule if you want to part of the Square Gang and be sure your squares make into the gallery.
Your main photograph must be square!
Hopefully you can join me in posting daily but if daily is too difficult, then it is okay to post every other day, weekly or even just ‘once in a blue moon‘. As no matter how often you post I will include you in at least one blue gallery (well I will if you keep your photographs square!!).
And finally the tags, I am using both #Blue and #JulySquares this month.
You find really interesting things, Becky. I need to get out more 😉. Today are in fact a couple of results of going out. (I’m not really deprived of excursions, I hasten to add …)

I love this naive artwork, Becky. Here in Wenlock our shower room is being ripped out and reconstituted just outside my ‘office’, so I’m passing through here, v. rapidly, with a quick view over the back fence.

Oh I have so many blues (um, photos with the colour, that is, not depression!) but I’ve missed all of July so far and I’m off on hols on Saturday for a week. Will have to blitz post upon my return.

On the outskirts of Moncarapacho. Normally whiz past in the car, but we were trying out a new walk and found ourselves on foot so was able to appreciate it 🙂

Yes. It’s not what I expected but some of it is beautiful. I guess you could say that for all of Portugal 🙂 🙂

We had a great time on our day trip, and would probably use it as a base for exploring the coast but you are right it is a pit of a hotch potch!
