Look like weird succulents on a tree! Some kind of Coral tree perhaps? I know they flower before the leaves appear, and the trees usually look amazing from a distance. This one looks a little sparse.
It shouldn’t look like this . . I can’t think of the name right now and don’t have my indepth flower book to hand but it is a plant of the sea marshes and saltpans

Such bright colours. I still haven’t arrived in spring yet – but there are so much more spikes around in autumn and winter. I’m going to call it the spiky seasons from now on, I think!
