Do hope everyone is enjoying this month’s theme of spikiness.

And remember it is not just spiky squares we are looking for, you can also be jagged, barbed, bristly, serrated, prickly, spiny, and pointy.

Apparently these shrubs grow into trees and the spikes remain on the trunks!!

No tree hugging there then!

Makes me wonder if this tree was inspiration behind some of those terrifying medieval torture tools!!

Ooh do you recognise it? Are we right in thinking it’s an acacia?

The leaves seem to suggest it’s acacia – mind you, nobody had them in their garden (I wonder why? 😉 ).

Walking in Parque de Lazer this morning. I shall be looking out for those creepy, prickly spikes! 😦 Sending hugs!

Hope you avoided the spikes and enjoyed the walk. Was it the exercise event organised by council?

Yes! Good turnout and glorious weather. A bit of confusion with the bike challenge, going in the same direction, but the GNR sorted it 🙂 🙂

No caterpillars or nests in sight! We wondered if they’d removed them? 🙂

Excellent news, and possibly. I know they do actively go out looking for them.

Those are too dangerous Becky. Honey Locust? They are such a pest here. Goodness knows why someone would bring them into Australia

I think it is an acacia, probably Vachellia karroo, like your Honey Locust it has been introduced ☹️
