An arch like that would normally call me in further – but the work and detail on the arch itself is keeping me still.

I’m amazed when I look at many old buildings to think just how long it must have taken, and how many people, to create the intricate carvings.

And these days when we have the technology and tools to do things more quickly, we instead build hideous buildings 😟

It’s a kind of patience and long-term planning which is seldom found these days. Although I can admire the results I wonder if it is really meant for humans to think in such long terms … Anyhow, I am definitely into more miniature craftsmanship, at least at the moment:
