This isn’t in Spain, and as far as I know Ernest Hemingway has never been here. I couldn’t though resist borrowing his title for this #timesquare.

Great capture. Sometimes it so hard to get photos looking up like that. We were At Notre Dame At one in the afternoon and I recorded the bells as we stood I line.

Once they start others come! We’ve seen trees with four or more. Quite amazing nesting.

Oh how I wish I’d thought of using that line for a title! Maybe I could use the next line from John Donne’s original: “It tolls for thee” — though maybe that’s a bit grim. 😉

”No Man Is an Island” by John Donne
No man is an island, entire of itself;
every man is a piece of the continent,
a part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less,
as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friend’s
or of thine own were.
Any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind;
and therefore never send to know
for whom the bell tolls;
it tolls for thee.
John Donne – (1572 – 1631)
It’s a great line. Use it well, use it often.

Not a lesson the keen Brexiters have learned, it would seem.

Not a lesson ANY government has learned. What a damned tragedy, too.

Our governments need an injection of kindness, togetherness and tolerance me thinks.

Did you hear the bell? Was it beautiful?

Unfortunately I can’t recall if the one I have heard is this one or the ones up hill! Lovely whichever it was though 😊
