Unfortunately we don’t know much more than this is my great grandfather, William Bertie Curtis standing beside a triple expansion steam engine.

The engine was made at A G Mumford Culver Street works in Colchester, where my grandfather was an engineer for some of his career.
I like this. I might have to dig out one of my old family photos when I get home.

so very fortunate. It must have been for an occasion if only I knew what. I really must spend some time in Colchester in the records office and see what I can find out

Great minds think alike. I was going to do a nostalgic piece, too. I’ll have to think up another title.

Use the same title, that’s what this challenge is all about – sharing and inspiring 😊

Thank you so much. He’s one of the most interesting in my direct line. In the very early stages of his career he worked in Canada, the family tale was that he was working on the Canadian Pacific railway. However no evidence of that discovered yet!
