Typically for me at the start of a Squares month I am away from home for a few days, which means access to the internet is going to be sporadic. So apologies now if it is a while before your #timesquare pingbacks appear. They will eventually I promise! In the meanwhile can you guess where I am heading to today?

I will be arriving at this very station around lunchtime. I can’t wait! Not only am I looking forward to seeing one of my best friends, but this city is wonderful. Uncertain where I am going, then keep reading!
I am catching a train to Portugal’s second largest city, Porto, and specifically heading for Estação Ferroviária de São Bento. Hopefully in a few hours I will be coming out of that tunnel you can see, and then walking into the marvellous vestibule of this 19th century railway station. To enjoy more pictures do take a moment to visit my Portuguese blog.
Have fun. Post number two now up on http://chittlechattle.com

I didn’t recognise this, but something reminded me of Central Station in New York for some reason. 🙂

The light and space maybe? Was busy enough today to be Grand Central!

Hi Becky, you have a wonderful photo for today.
My clock isn’t nearly as grand.

Happy travels 😀
Perhaps if you continue the square challenge into another year you might think of changing the months so that they don’t coincide with your busy periods – say April July and October next year and then January, April, July and October the following one. If you keep it going of course. It is a lot of work!!

Ooh now that’s a really sensible idea. Think I’m going to act on this advice 😊

I know, I know, the electronic display is actually helpful but it really spoils that grand arch! You must be about there by now. — Here is a sundial, as per your request 🙂 : https://picturesimperfect2.wordpress.com/2018/12/02/blessings/

Still travelling! Three hours from the Algarve to Lisboa, and then another three to Porto.

Wow! That’s quite a long journey. Almost the same as Cornwall to Shrewsbury! Hahah…

I’ve never done it in one go before, didn’t feel like 6hrs fortunately.

I am so envious! I wanted to see those Azulejos, because as I can’t walk far now, it wasn’t do-able…. I need to get there by train, I guess

All the drawings/tiles? outside the arch are really fascinating.

It’s one of the best examples of Azulejos we’ve seen as they’re in such excellent condition. Hand painted all of them!
