It may be nearly 15years ago but walking on squeaky pristine white sand after a morning sailing on a tall ship in the beautiful Whitsundays is a memory that feels like it was only made a few months ago. Australia is an incredible country, no wonder I was ‘tickled pink‘ for most of my adventures there.

I kept a travel journal for my ’round the world’ trip, and whilst I cannot recreate Jude’s wonderful prose from a trip to Lake Geneva, I can share a journal snippet from this particular day on Whitehaven Beach which will hopefully, especially if you know what I was wearing, make the Six Word Saturday gang laugh!
‘A heavenly day, swimming from ship to shore and emerging onto a white silica sand beach. I could have been Ursula [Andress] except I was in a stinger suit!’
Gorgeous. I mean you. And the setting.
I dug deep for this one:

You would have made the perfect stand in, Becky! Maybe without the hat? 🙂 🙂 Cheeky! They do look sublime, and you’ve done it- completed a wonderful month of challenges. Hugs, sweetheart!

Thanks, darlin! 🙂 🙂 Flight tomorrow afternoon from Leeds so we’ll be delivering more of James’ stuff and leaving our car with him while we’re gone.

I have done the same thing, Becky, that is tall ship sailing around the beautiful Whitsundays, but you look more like Ursula – stinger suit and all – than I ever could.

Oh fantastic. Which ship were you on?
PS Not sure about Ursula………my stinger suit seemed to expand at the sides. I was more like a roly-poly toy doll!!!

It was called Providence V and it was more of a ‘mini tall ship’. I too look like a roly-poly doll with or without a stinger suit. 😁

Stinger suits may not be attractive but they do the job! 😀 The water in the Whitsundays is the most glorious colour isn’t it. What a wonderful memory.

It’s amazing in the Whitsundays. Quite extraordinary. Would happily have extended my time on board ship but tad expensive and I had a flight booked to NZ!

Another case of beauty hiding nasty surprises. And I have no idea what a stinger suit looks like and what are those plastic streamers doing hanging from your hat? You sound to have had an amazing trip. Is this written about anywhere? And if not, why not?

Plastic streamers?!! Oh it is the blue ribbon to attach to head in blowy conditions!!!
Think very unflattering wetsuit. I am sure there are more flattering ones out there, but the ones we were all lent must have been stretched to the widest possible dimensions! Still they did help us float when snorkelling.

Heehee… I do not think I would ever be able to fit into a wet suit. Unless it had been well and truly stretched!

Hop aboard this tall ship then…..am sure mine was twice as wide as it was tall!
