With only days to go until October I thought it might be sensible to experience less pink So here’s a ‘tickled pink’ memory with only a hint of pink.
It was wonderful watching the swallows, house martins and swifts in this stunning and perfect setting. I cannot wait to return here next month.
And yes I know the birds are already heading further south so will not be there to welcome us but I’m still very excited about our return to our beloved Algarve!

Much as I love swallows, they’ve be a pain this year because Flora chases them! Are you counting down in days now or is it a bit longer?

We haven’t seen any of these migrant birds since the beginning of May when a few swifts arrived and then went again. Obviously they preferred the warmer weather further east!

Most of the birds that used to migrate don’t migrate all the time anymore. A lot of them hang around all year.

Oh yes, that’s certainly true of some of the waders. I’m pleased the swallows and swifts still migrate though.
