At the time it was the bird I was attempting to photograph, not the roof!

The theme is roof (or roofs or rooves) and there is only one rule that cannot be broken. Your main photograph must be a square. Everything else though is up to you, after all this is a roofing adventure not a competition with rules.

Birds on roofs, now why didn’t I think of that? None as exotic as yours though, Jackdaw, Magpie, Chaffinch… Oh and starlings. But I have already posted that one.

Kevin is far too nice a name for him. He’s got rather dramatic hunting and eating habits! Saw somewhere once the name ‘Vlad the Impaler’ which is probably more appropriate!!

I was so intrigued by them in Portugal I did lots of reading up and was somewhat taken aback by their use of spikes!

This one is a Grey Shrike. They have a beautiful song but have this habit of impaling prey on spikes.

The same as our Butcher Birds. The song is captivating and different in every region but their eating habits are questionable
