July was such fun with all your squares and shades of red. Thank you all again to the seventy plus of you who joined me last month. I know some of you are planning your own red celebrations today with leftovers and reflections, so I thought I’d launch August with a look back at some of your reds. It is also an opportunity to rehang mine in the gallery.

- So much of the nature photography this month has been inspiring, and incredible, and also at times very pointy
- There have been fiery moments in nature as well as scarlet ones and ones where we have simply sat back and relaxed
- We’ve also enjoyed looking at the artworks and through your windows and incredible gates
- This month has been luscious so I hope you will remain curious and as excited as a child at Christmas and fully explore the gallery and bonus sites

Here’s a quick reminder that if you haven’t already poured yourself a glass of something or made a cup of tea, or coffee or hot chocolate now would be a good time to do so. The squares galleries are amazing but I know it takes both time and energy to properly explore them.
- Especially when we’ve traversed rivers in search of reds, sailed across estuaries and even rowed around buoys
- Reds have enabled us to focus on architectural features and recollect travel memory after travel memory
- Sometimes the remembrances have been heirlooms and so too good to eat but not always!
- And occasionally on our beach explorations we have found reds out of action, but even the old ones have delighted us

This next room in the gallery is small but it is also rather special as it contains some brand new squarers as well as few returners whom we didn’t see in the first gallery.
- Some of us turned back time as well as turning red and sharing musings last month
- There was such love for red last month that squares were packed like sardines amongst our square community
- I have been honoured how you have found time to square during your Italian travels and incredibly busy lives

Hope you are having as much fun exploring as I did curating. There were some incredible shades of red last month as well as clever word plays and even literature and poetry.
- We’ve have worked hard this month but fortunately not tooth and claw as we’ve let it be and simply said yes to all the sulky reds
- We’ve been hypnotised by the red of others thoughts as well the beauty in quiet hours
- I guess therefore it is not surprising that not only has the town been painted red but the red carpet has been rolled out for our first red pickings
- In fact some of you have been overrun with squares and kindness in between your bathroom breaks!

Not only has July ended but we have reached the final room of this Red gallery. It really has been a treat curating this room and all the other rooms. I hope you are able to visit at least three fellow squarers in every room this weekend as the views are great.
- Red views are often 360 degrees wide and always a great place for a rendezvous with new companions
- Squares can also be a lovely place to enjoy solitude whilst catching the breeze but mostly it is a place to explore and to make friends
- Our feathered friends have been regular red visitors, as have the glorious poppies and your beautiful homes
- It feels like red squares has been around since the dawn of time or at least since neon, I am going to miss them.
Thank goodness therefore that there should be another Squares before the end of the year. I have pretty much decided on the theme but just need to double check I can make time to host Squares. I’ll confirm after my next Atlantic crossing.
PS I discovered when preparing the gallery there were a few Squares I’d missed in July. Hopefully I have now visited every square but if you think I have overlooked any of yours let me know by leaving a note & link below.
Thanks for another wonderful gallery. It’s helped me make a start on some of the reading I’ve been missing. I enjoyed catching up with some of your images too. My favourite is the fish with the artsy scales. Have a wonderful voyage!

Thank you for hosting squares of red this July, Becky! Your gallery is stunning with your choices and the ones who shared! Squares’ themes are always inspirational and get us thinking outside the box, especially those of us who like to double-dip with our own challenges! Do you know how lucky I was to get those fledgling birds to pose on the red-checked tablecloth? LOL.
Enjoy your next cruise and the rest of your summer! ❤

It’s been a terrific month. I didn’t realise that I have so many reds in my digital shoebox. I probably could continue for another month. But I won’t. You are so good at visiting every post especially someone like me who posts daily. I know it takes time. And then to curate the galleries! I shall come back to this on a rainy day. Sun is shining and I need to get back to the garden.

Ha. Not exactly enjoying it. Had to pull out runners from a vine I had planted. A pity they don’t warn you when you buy a plant that runs! Which meant removing my pebble pathway. So much work. But today I managed to get a lot done. Phew!

yikes, that sounds like hard work. Well done you on getting lots done.

Wow, I haven’t even started to click. I enjoy reading all the comments. I also see red while visiting friends throughout the month. I can see that going through your post here will be an adventure in itself. You have such a talent of drawing people together, we would all be sad if there was not another Squares for 2025.
If’ you are coming West after crossing the Atlantic, I hope you contact me. I’m sure Terri and I could set up a blogger event in Washington, Oregon, California, or Arizona. It would be lovely to meet up. 🙂

oh I’d so love to meet up with you all, sadly this time I am not going west. Almost a complete turn around after getting off the ship as I have UK commitments.
Have fun exploring the gallery when you have a moment xx

It’s been a brilliant month and you’ve done a fantastic job keeping up with all 70 of us, especially those who post daily! I can quite see that you have to be sure that you can spare the time before setting the month for the next Squares challenge, but I’m sure I’m not the only person hoping you do fit another one in before the end of the year 🙂 Meanwhile I’m looking forward to browsing these links to see some of the squares from people I don’t usually follow. Thank you again for all your hard work 😘

awww thanks. It means so much hearing how everyone enjoys Squares. And at this point I fully intend to return before end of year, just don’t want to say definitely in case things change in the autumn

I don’t understand how come I have missed so many of these, especially from people I follow 🤔
The wrap-ups a re such fun Becky. I don’t know how you can combine the words and posts so well.
Another Atlantic crossing!! you should be saving up to come to Australia 😁

it is really weird isn’t it how some have hidden this month. Glad you have had fun though
oh and I wish I could. I haven’t paid a penny though for any of the crossings. My Mum’s cousin paid for my tickets as he wanted support travelling. I am a very fortunate person

Can’t complain about that. Just need to get him to want to come to Australia.

Well done Becky! I’ve only just dipped into your Gallery so far, but have unearthed already treasures I hadn’t seen. Wot Jo said applies to me too! What an acheievement. And even readers who don’t ‘do’ squares seem to have enjoyed July immensely.

oh how fabulous you have unearthed some hidden delights – that’s exactly what I always hope for with the gallery

I thought I’d been diligent, but I still found loads that I hadn’t seen. One cuppa was quite inadequate. I might have to go and have a lie down now. Thank you for the inclusion, Becky! You’ve done an amazing job….again! When’s the Crossing? xx
